1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using AquaLedger ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
AquaLedger is a free, offline-first fishing journal application for Android devices that allows you to:
- Record fishing catches with photos, videos, voice notes, and detailed metadata
- Tag and organize catches by species, location, weather conditions
- Track fishing statistics and personal bests
- Create and restore local backups of your data
- Export and share individual catches
The App operates entirely offline and stores all data locally on your device. No account registration is required.
3. License Grant
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use AquaLedger for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may:
- ✅ Install the App on devices you own or control
- ✅ Use the App to record your personal fishing activities
- ✅ Create backups and restore data on your devices
- ✅ Share individual catches with friends/social media
You may NOT:
- ❌ Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- ❌ Remove or modify copyright notices or branding
- ❌ Redistribute, sell, or sublicense the App
- ❌ Use the App for commercial fishing reporting without permission
4. User Content & Ownership
You own all content you create in AquaLedger. This includes:
- Fishing entries, notes, and metadata
- Photos, videos, and voice recordings
- Tags, categories, and custom fields
- Backup files exported from the App
Important: Since all data is stored locally and never uploaded to our servers, we have no access to your content. You are solely responsible for backing up your data.
5. Advertisements
AquaLedger is free and supported by advertisements through Google AdMob:
- Banner ads appear on the home screen
- Interstitial ads may appear before backup creation, media exports, or sharing actions
- Ad frequency is kept minimal to preserve user experience
- You can manage ad personalization through your device settings
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
AquaLedger is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Accuracy of weather data, GPS coordinates, or fish identification
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Data accuracy, reliability, or completeness
⚠️ Data Loss Risk: While we strive for reliability, we cannot guarantee against data loss due to device failure, OS updates, app bugs, or user error. Always create regular backups using the in-app backup feature.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AquaLedger and its developers shall not be liable for any damages arising from:
- Loss of data, photos, videos, or fishing records
- Device malfunction or incompatibility
- Inaccurate weather data or GPS coordinates
- Fishing regulation violations based on App information
- Third-party service failures (ads, weather API, maps)
8. Fishing Regulations Compliance

NOT provide legal advice on fishing regulations. You are responsible for:
- Obtaining valid fishing licenses in your area
- Knowing and following local fishing regulations (size limits, bag limits, seasons)
- Proper catch and release techniques for conservation
- Respecting private property and fishing access rights
9. Privacy & Data Collection
Your privacy is paramount. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we handle data. Key points:
- All data stored locally on your device
- No user accounts or cloud sync
- No collection of personal information
- Minimal third-party services (ads, weather, maps)
10. Updates & Modifications
We may update AquaLedger to:
- Fix bugs and improve performance
- Add new features or remove existing ones
- Update third-party integrations
- Comply with new regulations or OS requirements
Updates are distributed through the Google Play Store. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of changes.
